Mission One: Getting Published
First things first. I’m no author. My mother and father are though – they have been prolifically writing for years.
Thompson-Authors is primarily a family run venture on the uncertain and ever so exciting journey into publishing. I have a little knowledge in all things web, so have lent some time to setting this site up and am also in charge of the publishing process (though I have no experience and know nothing about the process). My sister will be helping with marketing and spreading the word and my parents – John and Sarada will be the source of written inspiration.
‘The Brindavan Chronicle’ will be our first foray into self-publishing and intriguing story written by John Thompson. I hope to document our entire process from now on including every up and down we encounter so that you may benefit from our experience (and yes our mistakes) along the way.
Any author wants to be successful – and that is certainly what we hope to do with this site and any books that we publish in the future. It is an exciting prospect to look forward to and also a daunting one, but think that the whole experience will also be very rewarding. I hope that we will show that measuring success is not only about financial success – though it surely doesn’t hurt – but also about sharing ideas, thoughts and emotions. If we do that we will have done our job.
